Who Needs an Account to Register online?

 

01’s/Troop Leaders: So you can manage your troop online! Once you set up a login in your name, you will have access to the “Troop Management” section.
Volunteers: If you are a volunteer or registered adult member that may attend trainings or events, you must set up a login in your name. You are the “customer” attending the event so you need a login.
Parents: To register your daughter for events or summer camp you must set up a login in your daughter’s name. She is the “customer” attending the event so you need to use her name for the login. Each child needs her own account and each account needs its own username.

Leadership Courses for Troop Leaders

 

Girl Scouting 101 for all volunteers (Step 1)

After returning a volunteer application and criminal background check, all volunteers must take this on-line course. It is an orientation to the Girl Scout basics, Ways to participate, what Girl Scouts do, and more.  Password = aboutGS101 – case sensitive.  This is available online at any time click here to launch.

 

Volunteer Essentials (Step 2) - NOT required for drivers

Prerequisite: Girl Scouting 101
For adult volunteers, a welcome to your community.  This course is done locally in your community by the Community Learning Coordinator.  The course covers information about your community, as well as Council policies, guidelines, resources & contacts.

 

Troop FUNdamentals (Step 3) - NOT required for drivers or parent chaperones

Prerequisite: Girl Scouting 101 and Volunteer Essentials
This course provides an in-depth focus on delivering girls the Girl Scout Leadership Experience – the outcomes/benefits we are striving to achieve for girls and the processes that best achieve those outcomes. Troop FUNdamentals also covers the roles and responsibilities of the Girl Scout leader, methods of obtaining parent and guardian support, important elements of group meetings, girl and adult planning, finances, how to evaluate with girls and crisis and risk management.

 

Outdoor Course

 

Outdoor Adventure Workshop

This workshop entitles leaders to be able to do outdoor activities with their troop including a day hike, outdoor games and nature activities, and basic outdoor cooking on a fire. The workshop will NOT entitle leaders to tent camp or sleep out - of - doors in cabins or shelters. This is NOT a prerequisite for the other outdoor courses.

 

Basic Outdoor Living Skills (BOLS)

Prerequisite: none
Fee:
Optional book may be purchased at the training or Our Store for $9.50.

For people who plan to take girls hiking, camping or cooking outdoors, this course will train participants in safely introducing girls to hiking, fire building, meal preparation, beginning safety, knot tying, map and compass reading, the natural environment and ecology. This course also provides experiences in shelters, overnights, first aid, ropes, and an understanding of the ecosystem.


Advanced Outdoor Living Skills (AOLS)

Prerequisite: Basic Outdoor Living Skills or Outdoor Fun & Outdoor Living
For people who plan to take girls winter or wilderness camping. This course covers leading trips of two or more nights where the group may be generally away from immediate emergency help. Skills taught will include: how to teach children not to get lost, sanitation, first aid, camp stoves, tools & knots, map & compass, and minimum impact camping.

American Safety and Health Institute Courses

 

American Safety and Health Institute CPR/AED (ASHI CPR/AED)

Time Commitment: 3 hours
Fee: $12.00
This course covers adult, child and infant CPR and relief of choking. Course fee includes wallet reminder cards and a digital e-book. An optional book is available for purchase for an additional $10.00.

 

American Safety and Health Institute CPR/AED RENEWAL (ASHI CPR/AED Renewal)

Time Commitment: 2 hours
Fee: $12.00

American Safety and Health Institute First Aid (ASHI FA)

Time Commitment: 3 hours
Fee: $8.00

This course covers basic first aid principles, medical emergencies, injuries and environmental emergencies. Course format includes hands-on scenario based skills practice. Certification is valid for two years. Course charge includes a pocket first aid guide for all participants as well as a digital e-book. An optional book is available for purchase for an additional $10.00.

American Red Cross Courses

 

American Red Cross Adult and Pediatrics CPR/AED
(ARC A and P CPR)

Time Commitment: 4.5 hours
Fee: $43.00

For registered Girl Scout adults who will act as a group/troop first aider at any age level. This training covers Adult and Pediatrics CPR. Adults intending to act as group/troop first aiders must also obtain current certification in first aid which will not be covered in this training. CPR certification is valid for 2 year. A course textbook may be borrowed during the course, or purchased for $16.00.

 

American Red Cross Adult and Pediatrics CPR/AED and First Aid (ARC A and P CPR FA)

Time Commitment: 8 hours
Fee: $33.00

For registered Girl Scout adults who will act as a group/troop first aider at any age level. CPR certification is valid for 2 year. First Aid certification is valid for 2 years. A course textbook may be borrowed during the course, or purchased for $16.00.

 

American Red Cross First Aid (ARC FA)

Time Commitment: 4 hours
Fee: $20.00

For registered Girl Scout adults, this training covers the basics of first aid. Additional CPR training will be required for adults to act as group/troop first aider. First aid certification is valid for 2 years. A course textbook may be borrowed during courses, or purchased for $16.00.

For people currently certified in ARC Adult & Pediatrics CPR who would like to renew their certification and stay current. Review courses will have a short review session followed by the practical exams. CPR re-certification is valid for 2 year.
