Leadership

8-10

Amaze young campers with awe-inspiring activities, great games, righteous role-modeling and silly songs.  If you enjoy working with younger girls and believe you’re a great role model, then check out this challenging leadership program!  While at camp you’ll be paired with an experienced counselor as you share your talents and perfect your skills.  First, you’ll attend this required training weekend which day camp directors use as part of their selection process to ensure that you are ready for the responsibilities of camp.  Once we receive your camp registration form, you will receive an application packet which must be completed prior to training in May.

Fee $75.00

Meet the Director

Jen Clement is returning for her third summer as director of Elfin Glade. During the rest of the year, she works as a middle school Family Consumer Science teacher as well as a K-8 Health teacher. Jen has been a troop leader for the past five years working with all age levels, a service unit cookie manger, a delegate and a Jump In coordinator. She is looking forward to sharing her experience and excitement with the girls for an exciting summer at camp.

What is your best memory from camp as a camper?
Songs and s'mores by the waterfront.

If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Why?
Yellow, it is bright and full of energy. It also reminds me of the sun, which makes me smile.
Tell us about your favorite thing to do on a rainy day at camp
Crafts and games! We also like to play water games in the rain- it is a lot of fun!

What is an outdoor activity that you enjoy doing?
Canoeing with the girls. We look for fish, turtles and flowers, being in nature is so much fun.

Do you have a favorite campfire food?
I really enjoy eating hot dogs cooked over the open fire.

What is the reason you come to camp every summer?
I enjoy seeing the same campers come year after year.

A Typical Day at Camp Elfin Glade

9:00 Arrive at camp! Campers come by bus or are dropped off. We begin each day with an opening flag ceremony where each unit gets to take a turn raising our flag. We also use this time for daily announcements.

9:15- noon Activities with unit (which may include the swim time)
12:00 Lunch (units eat on own therefore time may vary slightly)
12:30-3:00 Activities with unit (which may include the swim time)
3:00 Closing flag ceremony
3:30 Campers head home! Either on the bus or picked up.

Popular activities during the day may include going swimming, crafts, or participating in an All Camp activity. As a unit, your camper will work with her counselors and fellow camper s to plan out their week around the theme of the program they signed up for. They might put on a play, cook over a fire, or go on a hike. There are lots of ways to have fun at Elfin Glade Day Camp!
